When life gives you lemons, make a brand film while drinking your lemonade.
One of the biggest challenges a video production house such as ours faced during the COVID19 pandemic was the lack of access to shoot things for our customers. Luckily at this point, we were working with Zavenir Daubert, who trusted the team and our vision and worked with us to execute their film, despite the numerous challenges and limitations. Stock footage came to our rescue, but the main challenge was how do we make a video true to the ethos of this brand, incorporating their values and identity, without shooting a single part of their ecosystem.
For context, Zavenir is an Indian premier manufacturer of specialty chemicals for the metalworking, corrosion protection & paint shop. Zavenir Daubert was born out of their collaboration with Daubert USA to bring marketing leading corrosion protection technology to India, the middle east & southeast Asian markets.
How storytelling assists you in achieving your business goals
With proper collaboration, support, and storytelling, what started as an informational video for employees slowly turned into something much more significant. We worked closely with their marketing team to identify their objective: making something that captured the length and breadth of what Zavenir Daubert stood for and the legacy it came with.

Video Production During COVID Lockdown
Considering the challenge of not being able to shoot due to COVID Lockdown for this brand film, the script had to be mindfully crafted to reflect the company ethos without being too generic or vague to incorporate stock footage. What helped the most was having a hands-on team for constant collaboration, editing and adapting to the lockdown situation to produce a top-notch video reflecting Zavenir Daubert's values.
Once the COVID situation across the country seemed to come under control and the lockdown was lifted, the Zavenir team and we capitalized on this opportunity by capturing a few shots of their people and office space to add to the video. We used a few Aputure lights to light the portable green screen and chemical lab in their office, and a Sony Fx6 with CP.3 lenses were used for the shots.
The Impact of a story-driven business video
This brand video has been shared across social media and viewed by hundreds of people who now have a deeper appreciation for the cutting-edge work done by Zavenir Daubert and their generations of contribution to metallurgy.
We’re incredibly proud of the French Fries Films production team that rallied together, from different parts of the country, despite the COVID lockdown, to make this film happen and tell Zavenir Daubert's story in the best way possible considering all limitations.
