Uppada handloom is a way of earning livelihood for many. In the small beach town called Uppada, families gather around to discuss the many new colours and various patterns they can put together to re-introduce Uppada to modern women.

For Swarna, Tanjore painting is not just an art, it’s her culture and belief. Her skills and contribution to reviving the traditional art form have been recognized by the Government of India; She is now a GI (Geographical Identification) certified artist.

Relating to a family of handloom artists, Inshiya naturally inherited the love for handicrafts and everything handmade.

Growing up in Kutch, which is the hub of handicrafts & handlooms, she takes pride in designing Bandhani - one of the oldest tie-dye techniques found worldwide.

We #CelebrateTheCreator - the young and enigmatic, Angel Bedi. “Known to be the kid in school who draws, what can be more fulfilling than transforming passion into a profession,'' said Angel Bedi. Her paintings are a reflection of her persona and her vibe appeals to the young generation of artists. She’s an inspiration to many! Hence, she found a way to turn her paintings into different kinds of utility items.

Another extremely talented artist from Varanasi is Mustaqeem Ansari, a fourth-generation handloom artist.

While working in the corporate sector, Shirali discovered her talent for making miniatures.

Her work is not just limited to collectibles but also inclined more towards utility items. After getting encouragement from friends & family, she aimed to make her talent global by getting on Etsy. Her Etsy shop SmallIdeabyShirali has a plethora of miniatures that one can choose from.

We #CelebrateTheCreator Vijay Joshi of Etsy shop VirasatPhadPainting, a thirteenth-generation artist who is keeping the age-old traditional art of Indian Phad scroll painting alive, bringing folktales of Hindu deities to life.

A girl from a small town seeks an interest in learning a traditional handicraft - Phulkari. Today, she is well-known for her contribution to keeping this handicraft alive. Recognized by the Government of Punjab, Dayawanti strongly believes that it’s in the best interest to practice handicrafts even in this age of modernization. As a kid, he was adamant to learn about the various techniques of Bidriware - the fusion craft, and today teaches many inquisitive apprentices.

His family is renowned for practising Blue Pottery, an art form that originated in Persia (now Iran). It was his great grandfather whose skill set impressed the then Emperor who then decided to send Manoj’s grandfather to Persia to learn this art.

He is a practitioner of the 17th-century Meenakari (Enamelling) art of Persia in a new form, enhancing the beauty of traditional meenakari work by adding the color pink to the white enamel. It is said that Meenakari from Persia transformed to pink meenakari by the skilled artisans of the holy city, Varanasi, India.

Kashmiri carpets have a long-standing reputation for being of top-notch quality and exemplary designs, hence, amounting to exceptionally high prices. With this video, we bring to notice the time, hard work, commitment, and skills that go into the production of one carpet.

We #CelebrateTheCreator, Kapil Jangid, whose family has won 9 national awards and entered the Limca Book of Records for their persistently astounding contribution in the field of handicraft. Kapil, along with his family, is practising the art of pure sandalwood carving from the last 3 generations. With the 4th generation coming in, Kapil decided to go global with this art form from Jaipur.
